BuzMe Plus

Rating: Cost:
$7.95 per month*
$39.95 for 6 months*
$71.90 for 12 months*

(*not including Busy Call Forwarding and No Answer Call Forwarding, which you get from your telephone company. You also have to pay for any additional Airtime minutes you want.)

Not just an Internet call alerts service -- BuzMe Plus is a full-featured voicemail system!

With BuzMe Plus, you can throw away your answering machine, because the service keeps track of messages you receive while online or offline (but when you're unable to reach the phone.)

The system shows that you have new messages in the BuzMe alert window, but can also send alerts to your mobile phone or your e-mail account. That makes it a lifesaver, because you can find out when you get messages when you're away from the home (or office) without having to call in to check voicemail.

You also get a call log of incoming calls. You can download calls as WAV files, if you want to store the messages on your PC.

OK, all that is in addition to Internet Call Alerts -- which show a Caller ID window when you get a call while online. When you get a call while online, you can choose to Accept calls, reply, ignore, or take a message.

Like BuzMe Online, anytime you use "Accept Call," you will have to pay Airtime minutes. You get 15 free Airtime minutes each month, but if you find yourself accepting calls often, you might want to purchase more. (Without any remaining Airtime minutes, you can't Accept calls.) See below for Airtime prices.

You will need to pay for Busy Call Forwarding and No Answer Call Forwarding, which your telephone company provides.
Like with the other BuzMe services, you can import your contact information from Microsoft Outlook.

Review Guy Says:

Woo-hoo! This is a great reason to get rid of that old answering machine, because it's more advanced and more useful. I like having BuzMe send me e-mails when I get new messages -- that way, I don't have to call in to check my voicemail all the time.

This is a great deal not only for home users but for people running businesses out of their home.

Of course, you also get the Internet Call Alert features, so you can stay online while still taking calls (or while your children are online, as the case may be!)

Considering Airtime minutes and having to pay your telephone company for Busy Call Forwarding and No Answer Call Waiting, It's somewhat expensive. But you might still You also might save money switching to this service, compared to the cost of having an Internet Call Alert service plus voicemail from your telephone provider.

BuzMe Airtime prices:
(Remember, you get 15 minutes for free each month.)

30 Minutes: $2.95
60 Minutes: $4.95
100 Minutes: $7.95
150 Minutes: $9.95
Paid minutes will roll over to the following month (for up to 3 months.)
